May is designated as Mild month by CAMRA. Mild Ales can be categorized as Pale or Dark in color and in general are an average of 3.5% ABV. The BJCP categorizes Mild Ales (11A) in the English Brown Ale Category (11).

Both import and domestic versions are commercially available. I know Kalona Brewing Company has a mild on tap or maybe it is now on their handpump.
