What is the THIRSTY Cup?
The THIRSTY Cup is a club only contest. Each competition will entail a unique approach to the brewing process.
How is the award determined?
The beer entries will be judged and scored by club members following the 2015 BJCP guidelines. To be eligible for the THIRSTY cup, you must enter 2 of the 4 categories. A qualifying beer will:
a.) Follow the process selected for the quarterly competition.
b.) Submit a recipe demonstrating the Brewers process and declared common ingredient – to be shared. c.) Submit a beer style brewed within any of the 2015 BJCP guidelines – for judging purposes.
An average score will be calculated from the submitted score sheets and bonus points will be awarded to the top 3 beers (3pts for 1st, 2pts for 2nd and 1pt for 3rd). Average scores and bonus points will accumulate over the competition to determine the Cup rankings.
How do I participate?
Submit 24 oz of beer (2 – 12 oz bottles preferred, but any serving vessel will be allowed) for judging at the Tuesday evening meeting. The entry must not be identifiable by entrants name or name of beer, etc. Entries must be submitted by 7:30 pm. To participate, must be a member in good standing.
